Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement goal-oriented treatment plans tailored to each resident's needs, focusing on enhancing daily living skills, motor functions, coordination, and cognitive abilities.

• Provide hands-on therapy sessions that may include exercises, activities, adaptive techniques, and assistive devices to improve residents' functional abilities.

• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.

• Monitor and document residents' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on adaptive strategies and techniques to promote continued progress and independence.

• Contribute to the development of discharge plans and recommendations for ongoing care or home modifications.

• Adhere to ethical and professional standards while maintaining a caring and supportive demeanor towards residents and their families.

Qualifications:

• A valid license as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Texas.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

• Experience working with geriatric populations, preferably in a nursing home or post-hospital rehabilitation setting.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

• Knowledge of relevant therapy techniques, equipment, and assistive devices.

• Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.

• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

• Current CPR certification.
